Solar wind is a stream of charged particles that constantly flow from the Sun's outermost layer, the corona. The solar wind is created by the Sun's corona expanding into space, heating the plasma to the point where the Sun's gravity can't hold it down. The solar wind is made up of electrons, protons, alpha particles, and trace amounts of other particles.
